“When I initially approached my dad about creating the documentary it was just likely to be Spock-centric all the way, from starting to conclusion,” Adam Nimoy explained to People today in July of 2016. “It was genuinely supposed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek coming up in September.”

The father-son duo commenced perform on what would become For the Enjoy of Spock in Sept. 2014, but just a handful of months later Leonard passed absent on February 27, 2015 at the age of 83 after a very long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary condition.

“After my dad died there was these kinds of an outpouring of emotion,” he says. “Not only for Spock but the loss of Leonard Nimoy the artist and renaissance person. It turned very clear when I made the decision to carry on on with the challenge that it experienced to incorporate my dad’s lifetime as effectively.”

A month immediately after producing  a Kickstarter to elevate resources for the documentary the challenge achieved and surpassed its $600,000 intention by more than $sixty,000, Assortment claimed.
