Last fall, when we spoke with talented artist Gretchen Röehrs about her passion for playing with food and fashion, we just couldn’t get over her fun, inspired illustrations. From ladies outfitted in billowy, banana peel jumpsuits to those recalling the flapper era with their swingy, zoodle-y frocks, each piece was enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face. There were enough to fill a book—and, in fact, that’s exactly what Röehrs did! Edible Ensembles: A Fashion Feast for the Eyes, out today (February 13), is a celebration of all of these elegant, cheeky ladies.

“My greatest hope for this book is to make people laugh and find beauty in the mundane,” Röehrs tells us. “Knowing I made someone smile is such a powerful feeling.”

Röehrs recently visited the Food52 office to share her talents in real life. She used some of our trusted Shop products as jumping-off points and, well, you just have to see the rest for yourself!

Wait, it gets better. Watch these arresting sped-up videos of her drawing with barely any prep time. Her ability to turn around these line sketches in just a matter of seconds really blew us away!
